Should I get a Dell 8300?

I am in the market for a new computer and the 8300 Dell deals look good. However, I would prefer to put together a system I would know and control in terms of future upgrades. I do not want to overclock - what chip/mobo combo-based system would you recommend that would be competitve with Dell's pricing of the 8300 based on their Pentirum 3.0 based system

My uses will be WP, surfing, occasional UT2K3 - thanks.

Depends on what you are comfortable with. If you can wait a month or so you may have better upgradability in whatever you build.
