Should I get a 90mm to 120mm fan adapter?

Hi. My case has a 90mm side fan but I think the 120mm fans would provide better cooling abilities. However, if I use a 90mm to 120mm fan adapter, the edges of the 120mm fan beyond the 90mm range would be blocked, so it would not be as effective as using a 120mm fan in a 120mm vent.

Anyway, is getting the adapter worth the investment? I'm not doing any overclocking. I'm running i3 2100 with Radeon 6670, both at stock speeds.

I am not sure what you mean when you say the edges of the 120 fan would be blocked. How blocked are they? If they are completely blocked, then it would be a static pressure issue, but the adapters I use have a flare from 92 out to 120 over about an inch which is no problem.

The tangible benefit is the ability to get more airflow in a quieter solution than a comparable 92mm fan.
