im having no problems with my current bios that came with the board from newegg. and i dont use floppy. dont even have one installed.

should i flash bios? Do i need to if i want to stick in a athlon 1800 xp?

any performance increase in flashing bios?
 
If you flash BIOS 010911 you get a few extra fsb speeds for a little oc'ing fun, plus a few bug fixes. And if you are running Win2k I would flash it for sure, even tho you aren't using a floppy. Also, then you'll find out whether your BIOS chip is good or not while it's still under warranty.
