I have like $2800 in my bank account. I have no real need to spend the money on anything else; but it *would* be nice to have it in case of an emergency.

Should I spend the $2000 and get my car fixed?

Keep in mind it's possible I will get reimbursed when I go to court in like a month or so.
 
Get the money first.
Then find a friend who will do it for a LOT cheaper.
Then pocket the difference.
 
If you are going to sell it anytime soon and it's a high dollar car, get it fixed.
If you plan on running it into the ground, then you have to decide if it's worth the money spent to make it look nice.
Only you can decide that.
