Should i finally go to xp?

I'm about to buy a A7N8X Deluxe board, a 2100+, and 256mb pc3200.

If I go from 98se to XP pro, will there be a signifigant performance loss with only one 256 stick?

I mostly only play games and will probly get another stick when I can afford it.

Do you think I should hold off until I get another stick or just buy xp now?

well to get the most bang out of that board you need 2 sticks of memory...

Try looking at newegg, they have reasonable deals on windows xp upgrades and oem versions when purchased with hardware (which you are doing)

My dad can get me XP pro upgrade for $43, but wont pay for a ram stick.

Since I can only afford one stick, I just wanna know if xp is worth it with 256mb of ram.
