OK this is a western digital 7200rpm 20gb hdd. Nothing fancy, about 3 years ago and the warranty ran out december 20th 2004. it was my sis's HD which has not been replaced with a new 80gb drive. This thing works perfect from what i can thell but it gets quite warm and has a fairly loud humm/whine to it so i don't trust it enough touse for storage or to sell soooooo i wanna take it apart.
So why do i feel bad?!!? if it was dead i would be ok with it of course but for all i know the drive is fine, bah.

hey 20 gigs is 20 gigs...slap it in a file box somewhere and dont put anything important on it

EDIT: if you just want to get rid of it i'll pay shipping :D

i'll even send you a dead hard drive i have sitting around so you have one to take apart :)

if you don't trust it to store your data, then it's no good as a hard drive for you

also, there isn't much to see inside.

I know a person that takes 'em out to the shooting range for target action. The platters are pretty cool with a bullet through them.

Yeah, except for a couple powerful magnets. Don't get pinched.

Taking apart a hard drive is a fun 15-30 minute times sink. Then you have cool platters and magnets. I recommend it.
