i'm borderline B/C+ ... it would mean the world to me and give me some hope in my academic path if I ended up with a B.

my percent is 73.8 .. a B is a 75.

I can't do anything about the exam or final grades... since those are set in stone, but my quiz grades that the TA handles could possibly be higher.

what should i tell the TA?

should i email the professor and ask him if I end up with a 74%.. if there is a chance that it might be boosted to 75%?

damn i need that B.....

You can try emailing the TA. But I made it my policy to not bump anyone up who needed more than a point to get a different letter grade.

I would assume the TA has already submitted the grades by this time in the year. Most of the TAs I know had to have their grades in before finals started.

It depends. Finals at my school ended on Friday, but I have until Monday afternoon to get my grades turned in.

edit: Actually, I suppose in his situation since the TA seemed to only be in charge of quiz grades, the TA probably had to turn in those grades to the prof at an earlier date.

It's one grade in one class among dozens you will take during your college experience...

What do you mean by "possibly be higher?" Do you mean that the TA should give you more credit on your quizzes? That doesn't seem fair to everybody else to me...\

I say take the C+ and live with it. They're grades. They don't reflect your abilities as an individual, nor do they reflect you yourself.

cool... i don't know how well i did on the last quiz.. so if i got a 42/50 on it.. I have a B for the class.

if it's lower than that.. I'm hoping the TA could sympathize for just couple extra points on my quiz.

I did extremely well on the final... otherwise I wouldn't even be at C+/B borderline.

Go to the professor and drop to your knees. Even if you don't get that higher grade at least you have something to chew on.

no i've been jerked since my freshman year... always getting the wrong TA's and professors.

for instance, i had a friend in chem lab who did terrible on his unknowns... getting 50s and 60s... the TA crossed out his last unknown and gave him a 166. ended up with a B for the lab.

when will I get a break like this?? :frown:

That's why you're supposed to shop around. I feel sorry for the kids that I'm going to get in the spring time, because I've decided to no longer be a nice guy. :)
In a way, it's not fair that you don't receive the same experience as anyone else just because TAs and profs are always going to be different, but that's just the way it is.

edit: While I will no longer be such a nice guy about things, I will always be fair and provide each of my students the same opportunity for make up points or whatever.

Trying getting a 84.5 overall when you need to get an 85 to get onto law review :disgust:
