I've been using an old Asus EEE PC 1005HAB netbook for my trips and I replaced the original HDD with a first gen OCZ Vertex 30GB SSD. Needless to say, the performance improved considerably. A couple of months ago, I replaced the Crucial C300 64GB boot drive in my desktop and was considering replacing the Vertex with it. Obviously it would improve my capacity but would there by any addition performance benefit given the specs of this old netbook?
 
Perceptable performance gain would likely be slight. However, IMHO, the reliability gain (not visible) could be significant. You have the tools. Proportionally clone the OCZ drive to the Crucial. Replace the OCZ with the Crucial and see for yourself. All it costs is some of your time.

How would the Crucial SSD be more reliable? I tested the Vertex with Crystal Disk Info and it rates it at 96% Good. Could you explain? Thanks.
 
Look around this sub-forum. There's a few SSD brands/models that people continuously swear by. The Crucial m4 is one of them. The OCZ SSDs are a consistent source of complaints.

Anita said it. OCZ SSDs are arguably the bottom oif the food chain for reliability.
