I want the japaneese version for theese reasons

1. it's white, and since about 3 other people I know have black ones, this will stand out
2. the japaneese versions use samsung screens, which have better quality, and less dead pixels
3. japaneese version doesn't have sticky buttons, they operate more smoothly
4. I know i'm getting something fairly new, not something that might have been sitting in the box since the release date.
5. it comes with the update built in

Well, going to buy it tommorow, depending on what ATOT thinks.

it's only $20 more than the american version. I am going to be getting a PSP no matter what, I'm just wondering if I should get this one.

i was referring to the PSP in general
 
You want to stick out from people with black PSPs with a PSP that's the same color as an iPod. lol
 
since you "have to get" the psp might as well would be the white.

you sure about the japanese ones getting better screens?

I don't "have to get", I mean "somebody will be getting it for me for my birthday and they want to know which one I want".

I am almost positive that the japanese ones use better screens.

If someone is buying, might as well get the white. Then immediately downgrade to 1.5. I picked up a PSP off craigslist last night. $200 for it (new in open box) with 2 movies (Hitch and Van Wilder), a 512mb mem stick, and all the original stuffs sans Spidey 2.

I don't know how to make hombrew though, and I would rather be able to use the internet at wi-fi spots than play homebrew games.

can't unfortunately. However, nobody that I have seen on the internet has gotten dead pixels with the new samsung screens.
