Should I do it?? - Sneak Cuban Cigars in?

So I'm traveling from Toronto to San Francisco on Friday via airplane. Should I stash a few Cuban Cigars in my backpack????

I thought you were a Ninja? Real ninjas don't have a problem with this or feel the need to ask. 😉

IRC, you can legally bring 2 cubans into the country. Had an uncle who smuggled a dozen cubans into the country, had the store gift wrap them, then told customs they were chocolates. This was pre-9/11 security, so buyer beware.

who cares if u are sneaking in a dozen or so. they are banned to be marketed here really. cmon, those security ppl have too much to deal with than a couple of cigars (long lines, bitchy ppl, undressing ppl, etc)

I've done it before from BC, and the once I got caught I was straightforward with the guy, and he let me go and told me to enjoy them. (obviously for personal use, I only had 2) This was not on a plane though.

Be carefuly where you get them though, a lot of place around the border will sell knock offs. If you can't tell the difference easily enough, bring a friend who can.

No, do not do it.

Usually they just confiscate them, but they could also enforce the more severe penalties if they want.

The only Cuban tobacco allowed in the US is pre-embargo tobacco and that is all there is to it.

they are all good suggestions and thoughts. i'm not going to get a dozen or anything. i just want to get 2-4 of them. i don't even like cigars taht much but it would be cool to have a "cuban". not an american cigar rolled by a cuban.

They wont put you in jail, they'll just confiscate them. I lost two on a train trip from Vancouver BC to Seattle. A$$hole customs said the drug dog "showed interest in me" they searched my bags and only found 2 Cuban cigars. They took them...

just bring a regular cigar box up with you, take off the bands and mail them back to yourself from Canada. When they ask just tell they're Dominican cigars.

If they found them, how would the customs people know they're Cuban cigars? What are they, cigar experts?

Yeah I can picture the customs agent...

*snifs cigar* "This is a Juan Pablo, 2003, wrapped in Havana."

*snifs again* "Wrapped...." *snifs once again* "By a short lady named Juanita, two weeks before the Winter Solstice."

"This is a fine object of smokery....NOW OFF TO JAIL WITH YOU!!!"

They will only take them and confiscate them...i doubt they'll do anything more...had a friend that used to get them from customs and smoke them
