Should I Cut up my Desk?

Xiety's thread got me thinking. Having dual screen rules but it kinda sucks if your monitors are far apart from each other. Like so.

Should I cut out the right cabinets to hold a 2nd monitor or leave it alone? BTW, The desk only cost me $40 in a garage sale so I'm not uber attached to it.

you could do that and then just superglue it or something to the spot where the second monitor is attached ... that would be cool
 

Get a new desk.... Last thing you need is to screw something up and have your desk cave in ;).

Getting that desk for only $40 was one of my best catches evar! (oh yeah, I grabbed the 2nd monitor for $4 too)

Actually, just the hutch portion of the desk is going to be modified. The hutch has no bearing on keeping the structure of the desk together. If anything, it's just added weight - and puts more stress on the actual desk itself.

Sometimes the end pieces on the hutch go all the way down... It would be a fun project if you had a backup plan ;)

you would really have to butcher it for it not be usable. Do you have l33t butchering skeelz?
