v-sync or fps limiters doesnt fix the problem. The benefit of multi gpu is that your fps skyrockets, whats the point of it when 60fps can be achieved with a single card? crossfire is broken, stop making excuses.

What are you going to choose, nvidia with no or minimal stuttering at 90+ fps or radeons that are capped at 60 to supposedly fix the problem even though it doesnt.

What we, crossfire/dual gpu defenders are trying to point out here, is that dual gpu really increases the graphics processing capabilities of the system. Performance does skyrocket. Crysis 3 goes from 40fps lagfest to 60fps vsynced heaven for me. If that is not a benefit, then what is?

Not all people want to game at more than 60 fps without vsync. Those people can very well look the other way around.

Still, I find it exceptionally hypocritical, that many people are ready to shoot down crossfire's frametimes shortcomings, without vsync, but they are happy to expose themselves before ugly screen tearing.

Accordingly hypocritical is the fact that if you disable vsync, you can't possibly have smooth gameplay, since the game is not at sync with the monitor. I don't know about the rest of the people, but disabled vsync is not smooth for me even in single gpu, on all my current or older systems.

looks like you already made up your mind since post #1.

at least report back how 7870 cf is with some frametime graph.

good luck.

if 7870cf is anything like 7970cf. get ready for a surprise.

Be warned Far Cry 3 tears pretty bad at anything under 60 fps, so you pretty much need to lower settings until you can get stable 60 fps and then lock vsync. On my 7950 this meant I had to disable MSAA so that I can run with Ultra settings and lock 60fps. It looks good, wish I had MSAA though. I would happily run at 40fps with MSAA except the weird tearing that happens.

don't have any problems running Far Cry 3. no screen tearing for me

your GPU is too slow that's why, tearing is a problem high end gpu's have

edit: btw, the above sentence is a joke

sure send it my way

XD
I had 2 6970s in CF but the power usage was high. I think 2 7870s would perform very well. We all get the "power bug" from time to time. Lordy, I see guys on this forum with 3 TITANS! in SLI. That's some SERIOUS JACK$$$. (@$3,000.00)

If you can afford the other 7870 go for it. You PSU is fine and the 8320 at 4.4GHZ is solid. Have fun and keep us posted when you "officially" become crossfired.
