My neighbours (two girls, and no, they're not that nice looking!) have recently been making a bit of noise. Music and the tv mostly. Thing is, its not that often, but when they do it, I cant even have the tv on, so it is pretty loud. Like last sunday, I was trying to study, and all i could hear was crappy dance music coming through the wall. Thing is, i dont want to make trouble, or make it worse than it already is. I mentioned to the people I rent the apartment from, and they are prepared to make the complaint on my behalf, do you think i should go ahead with it?

You have two choices:

1) quit bitching

or

2) do something about it

Take your pick. If it bothers you then do something about it. The other party may not realize how loud thier apartment is.

talk to them first and ask them to turn it down. if it persists, then complain to the building manager. no one likes a tattletale :)

you can either get back at them when they're studying or needing the quiet and peace, you can ignore them, or you can complain. Don't know where you live, but I was a student in Davis, at UC Davis and the police here are pretty strict about noise. If you can hear sounds through the wall after curfew, then it's too loud. You can call the cops, they will come out, and put an end to the noise.

Really a PITA when you're throwing parties, but quite effective.
