No, unless you do so regularly. I am sure the podiatrist would want to know how you keep your toenails, it would probably help make his treatments more effective...

i went to the nail doctor to get my toe nail removed when i had a ingrown toenail on both sides of the nail. It was so deep in the toe that the two nails wrapped around my toe and were touching. I tried to cut the nail to make it look better for him but i just couldn't, way too much pain

besides, you think podiatrists would want to see some disgusting hooves? they probably see some gross stuff day in and day out, but i'm sure that it'll make his day a little better if you came in with clean, maintained feet rather than feet that look like you don't even care.
