Should I care about a Mobile processor or not?

I am going to buy a laptop which I will take from home and use on the road, but when it is at home it will always be plugged in and when I am on the road it will almost always be plugged in, so should I really be concerned if it the processor is a pentium M or not, also if I should not go with the M what is the best processor out there, I will be surfing the net, email, minor work at home, games and streaming? Thank you for your help!

After the Pentium M I would go for a Turion 64/Athlon 64 Mobile. After that probably the Sempron and Athlon XP-M chips. And finally the Pentium 4 and Celeron based systems, the reason for me being not so much power consumption (although the P4 does consume an awful lot) but heat. If you have a laptop on your knee then you don't want to get burnt do you.

You have my permission to get a Pentium M. 😀

Seriously, get the Pentium M. It doesn't lose to any others in performance and the two times in your life you use it on battery, you'll thank me. Also, yes, the heat issue. Besides being hot on your lap, even on a table you can feel heat rising through the keyboard.
