i'm gonna get that too heh. i could use a mouse upgrade. the current one craps out when i move too fast. besides the other computer could use a scroll mouse
 
Friend has a cheap Microsoft mouse with thumb buttons like that, and I find it really annoying, I'm constantly accidentally hitting the buttons. Then again you could always ebay it if you don't like it.

i'm sure you could set the buttons to do nothing
 
I love the extra buttons on my intellimouse explorer 3.0, especially in games, you can map them to anything...of course, my friend has one and he had the button mapped to "kill the application" where mine was mapped to "reload" that was a fun game...but once you get used to them, they're great.
