Seems like a good deal. Thats what, 50% of retail? Is it the type with the touchpad wheel?

a new one is 250? i forget, either way, its used, its obsolete model, it has parts that wear out like the battery and harddrive. he's your friend. it seems kinda high a price to charge a "friend" even hundred would seem more fair. you don't profit off friends.

wtf would you need more then 5 gigs for anyways? honestly?

Probably illegal stuffs..i.e. software, etc, it's an easy way to transport that kind of thing I suppose.

its not that hard to have tons of mp3s, encoding at 192+ kbs and just your cd collection for many people will eat a ton of space

$150 is on the high end for a 5GB iPod. Is it 1st gen(mechanical scroll-wheel) or 2nd gen(touch-wheel)? If it's a 1st gen, it should definately be going for less, unless he's throwing in some goodies too.

Correct, the 2nd gen iPods were a bit thinner, and the scroll-wheel became a touch sensitive one. That said, if it is 2nd gen, it might be worth the $150 bucks, but just as a comparison, with some good bartering, I got a 1st gen 5GB iPod with case for only $100, so $150 is up there.

The 2nd gen 5gig iPods had moving wheels and didn't come with cases.

Oh, and don't buy it. You can get a 10gig on clearance at Target or some BB's. I'd even hit up ebay and check 'em out. Either way it's an okay deal, but you could definetly do better. I'd look around, or talk the friend down a bit.
