The reason he is selling so cheap is because he says the laptop doesnt charge anymore so he thinks the battery has to be replaced and also he took it to some place and they told him the Motherboard has to be replaced. Do you think its a good investment to buy this laptop and have someone fix it

please give me a reason why i should/shouldnt buy this laptop and not just a yes or no answer

i think it would probably cost another 300 to fix it, including the 200 sale price...$500 for a laptop

how much will it cost to replace the motherboard? And how much is a new battery? take the prices from that, and add them together, then deduct them from the price this laptop would cost you if it is in working/good condition.

that is how much money you will save or overspend.

personally, if i did not own 2 laptops, four desktops a million spare parts... and had the time.... i would be all over it.

Laptops are expen$ive to fix. You may want to figure out exactly how much it'll cost first.

a battery is going for $40 to $60 bucks on fleabay:

F4809A battery (completed prices...)

I don't understand the motherboard thing..does it work ok when it's plugged in? it just won't charge?

see the hp support site for notebook power troubleshooting guide....might be something simple. Then be a good guy and help him fix it. (nah....)

maybe it has something to do with the AC adapter connection.

for 200 it's well worth it.

borrow it from him, take it to a comp repair place, ask what the cost of repair will be and if it is decent buy it
