Should I buy Sacrifice?

I keep hearing a lot about this game, is it really that good? I want a new game, and that seems like the only good one out there I haven't played. What is it similar to?

i played it for awhile, and quickly got bored of it. maybe thats just me. i was mainly disappointed with the multiplayer, which allows only a maximum of 4 players.

the games kind of like a 3-d rts game with a stronger hero unit that you control, who has spells and stuff.

sacrafice is good, not realy like myth, kinda like warcraft but with a hero you control but even better, was worth the money IMO

its faster paced than myth. if you're on a fast connection, you might try to download the 90 MB demo and check it out for yourself.

I tried the demo. It seemed fresh at first but quickly got old. It's simply a matter of collecting souls, popping new units into thing air, and moving toward the enemy to destroy them. I didn't like how you're locked into one viewpoint (i.e. no way to reasonably control multiple groups of units all over the map).

Yeah, I also loved the game at first. The graphics are awesome, and concept seemed innovative. However, I also quickly got bored of it. The whole, gather souls->create units->attack->gather souls infinite loop make the game a bit boring.

I guess I am in the early stages of this game still because I still thinks its a great game. Took sometime to get use to the camera views. More use to games like homeworld where any unit can be zeroed in on. Anyway, great game if for nothing else but Charnel's quotes.

If I don't get Sacrifice, I was also considering Mechwarrior 4. I've played Mech games before and I liked them. The only concern I have is that I don't have one of those massive joysticks, and I'm not sure how the game would be on mouse/keyboard.

That's the trouble with today's game design: overly simplistic/repetitive gameplay that relies on stunning visuals and effects to fake freshness. These games are fine if your'e new to gaming. But, damn, PC games have been around for 20+ years. Throw a bone to the veteran crowd once in a while. :disgust:

I wanted to like sacrafice...saw several 5 star reviews...but the game just simply isn't all that great.
