Should I buy BF2?

I'd say Yes. I enjoy it.

And I like the ranked servers. From what I've noticed, it keeps most of the morons away.

Granted, the server browser is a bit behind, but the gameplay is awesome.

Nope. Thankfully I decided to try the demo first. The one thing that really pissed me off is that you can't have the same key mapped for multiple things. I don't want to memerize the whole keyboard just to play a game.

I'm not sure how you could do this in any game? Unless you hit a shift or a ctrl first, how would the game no what you wanted it to do if you had two actions mapped to one key? BF2 lets you map keys based on the vehicle you are in so you can set different controls for the jets or the helicopters or the tanks. This has been enough for me.

I forgot about that part. I hated always getting the server full message due to the server refresh lag. Did they ever fix that ping bug? I would see awesome pings and then join the game only to find myself and everyone else hitting insanely high pings.

I bought it...everything else on the shelves looked like crap

wish me luck

You know, you could have bought me a PS2 mouse/kb adapter for my Xbox! I like this option better!

I got the shiny new graphics card but due to work I am never here🙁

I have switched my schedule around to have *some* free time but want to buy something "great," and can't think of anything besides BF2.

Let's not talk about unfortunate events and games here people (RED FACTION 2 a good deal # $10 my ass:|)

Anyways, what are my options besides:

-Chronicles of Riddick (already have it)
-FarCry (already have it)
-HL2 (already have it)

I bought BF2 it's horrible, buggy, can't even join the servers it is so slow. Returned that piece of sh!t for doom3 resurrection of evil and C&C generals deluxe pack 🙂. Satisfied since

Would you guys agree that BF2 was the biggest let-down of a game of 2004 and 2005?

no, Killer 7 was. It was announced and then delayed a couple times. The art style looks awesome but the gameplayed turned out to suck 🙁

I was in a grudge match with BF2 and Guild Wars and I'm totally happy that I bought Guild Wars. Side-by-side, clearly GW is more polished and not rushed. Everything works well, it's pretty impressive how well it runs and looks in fact, for being a total of 3 files.

i love the game, but damn it's a resource hog. my rigt (below) can barely handle it. I have to put everything to minimal settings to actually aim properly w/o fps jumps lol

i agree...BF2 kicks ass, but makes sure u got a fast system or else you'll get owned.

I keep hearing this, but I'm running it on an AMD 1.8/9800/1GB RAM... Just run the settings at 1024@medium. Anything higher than medium textures uses more RAM, so don't touch those settings w/o more than a GB.

It'll run just fine, but only at medium texture unless you get more RAM.
