I think I need help!! My Sapphire x1800xt "slave" card comes tomorrow from ups for my new build. I also have the asus crossfire mobo...I'm going to be doing alot of gaming on this new system, and not to mention I just bought a dell 2005fpw. Should I just say "What the hell!" and do it anyway???
BTW: I do have the money to burn

I have it in my cart at monarch...what do I do?????

The x1800xt is fast enough for me as it stands....I'm upgrading from a vanilla 6600 256mb pci-e card....it'll be a big difference

WELL, I'd say save up, sell the x1800xt, wat a few weeks and buy a master and slave x1900xt.

I think I'll get the master card....this is my 2nd build...I think 2 x1800s will last me a while....I'll wait until after the x1900 to upgrade again....by that time we should have 60 pipe cards, right?? lol

Dude- you are DA MAN!

There has been so much contradictory stuff posted about Crossfire, not to mention the fact that reviews are usually done at launch and not re-done, you can actually fill us in on whether driver fixes work and the like.

Besides the fact you may now have the fastest computer in this community- I don't think anyone here has dual 512 GTXs.

Someone posted several weeks ago that has dual 512 GTX. Spent like over 1,200 on them too... :-/ A bit too much money for my blood!

I also have a Lian-Li v1000 w/side window.....very well ventilated case. I should have my Opteroon 165 by the end of the week. That is one thing I will be overclocking. I'll let you guys know what kind of scores I get in 3DMark.

I'd like to see you buy the X1800 master card just for the sake of someone on these boards actually having a crossfire setup. So we can pick your brain. But it just doesn't make sense with the new cards (X1900XT/X) just about to be released. From a cost perspective alone, you would do well to either sell your X1800XT now before the price drops further because of the newly released cards and get the most you can for it, or wait a bit until after the new cards come out for a price drop on X1800XT master cards. Right now is kinda the worst time to buy any high end card.

It makes sense to me...I don't have to have the highest of high end video card in my system to be happy with it. :)

And yet you're buying a crossfire setup. Kind of contradictory. Just gave my 2 cents. If you're happy, thats all that matters.
