I was referring to iPad 3 possibly cominig with Retina display which I believe is still LCD platform.I doubt "Plamsa-Like" technology will ever come over to a mobile platform. The iPad has an IPS display. It is by far the best option for a mobile device. It's colors and brightness is far superior to any plasma I have seen.
Yes, iPad 2 has IPS screen, but it's still LCD based. it's more of glorified LCD screen ain't it.:| I owned one. Yes, the colors are good. It's bright. But for those crave on PQ for videos the high brightness doesn't necessarily help. What it needs is better black levels and contrast. Not that I'm saying the black levels on the iPad 2 is bad, it's not bad at all. Plasma (the higher end ones) beats it. The viewing angle on the iPad 2 wasn't that good. Viewing at horizontal angles wasn't terrible, but in verticle angle it was bad. It loses picture richness and contrast real easily.
Thanks. I will check it out.You shouldn't have to wait much longer at all, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7" has a 1280x800 Super Amoled Plus display which gets you all of the advantages of plasma that you outlined without the high power consumption of an actual plasma display.
