Should I buy a Xb1 just for Forza?

Got burnt out on Destiny, and kind of pissed off about the Taken King, so done with all that.
Sony won't support Logitech G27 steering wheel, so I ended up buying a Thrustmaster T300RS, only to find out that PS4 doesn't have any decent driving games. Who knows when Gran Turismo is coming out if ever...

Is Forza Horizon 2 really that good? The last Forza I played was Forza 2 on 360. FH2 so good that it'd make you buy a XB1?

I'm still amaze that a racing game can even become a system seller but nonetheless Forza 4 is the best racing game I play and this is coming from someone who used to really love the original Project Gotham Racing for the original Xbox.

Forza Horizon 2 and while it is a good game is not a system seller in my opinion and is not a reason to buy the Xbox One. However Forza 6 on the other hand is a system seller and is a perfect reason to buy an Xbox One.

I hope that help. You should get the Forza 6 LE theme Xbox One console.

I played Forza 5 a ton. The console came with that and Titanfall for free. I would have spent 60 bucks on Forza, it was well worth it. Nurburgring was a total time waster. I spent hours tweaking a Corvette ZR-1 and trying to make it dance.

FH2 is really fun and polished, but really arcade-ish. The controls and feel are natural to any Forza player, but it isn't a nuanced game. The off-roading races ended up being the funnest. I also killed a lot of time going around town and finding jumps and completing the bucket list challenges (some are hard). But, I burnt out on it. Why? It's not challenging. Well worth the gameplay and the price of admission...but I kept going to Forza 5.

I can't wait for Forza 6, there is so much more fun in the added realism.

One can only hope it better than Forza 4 but because it has less cars still, I can't ever give it that title of the crown.

to OP get Forza 6 and that Forza 6 console which is not overprice and at a good price point. I'm thinking of canceling my Halo 5 console (overprice AF) and getting that console instead.

That's really for you to decide, not us. Me, I hold the belief that no single game is worth purchasing a console. If you like circuit racing, getting the Forza 6 bundle (which is the same price as the regular 1-TB console, but comes with the paint job, the game, and some extra digital stuff) would be a good choice. You could then get Forza Horizon 2 used for probably $30 or so, and you'd have the open-world alternative to play around with as well.

Even then, if you only want to play one or two games, it's hard to justify a $400 console. If you have the money and want to play it, go for it. If you're on the fence, I'd try to find a friend with the console and maybe rent FH2, if you can. If there are other genres you like, then you can probably find a lot of upcoming titles to justify a purchase more easily, but it's ultimately up to whether or not you want to drop that $400.

I continue to spend tons of time in Forza 5 (basically bought the XB1 because of it) and Forza Horizon 2. There are some other XB1 exclusives coming out - Gears of War 4 and Halo 5 coming to mind - I think it's worth it.

Thanks for the input guys. I also forgot about Forza6 about to come out. The last Forza I played was 2 on XB360. I'm going to keep my eyes open for a XB1 deal. Man, I haven't turned on my PS4 in like 2 months. Thinking I should just sell it, haha.

Edit: Goes to show, even if you have the better hardware, it doesn't mean jack if you don't have the titles to back it up.

I wouldn't drop $400 on a console for just one game. Sure Forza is a good driving game, but does the XB1 have any other exclusives you're interested in?

Maybe that last part is on you because you bought it, Sony didn't force you. If the Xbox has the games you want why did you buy a PS4?

With the ridiculous stink Forza 5 gets aside, it is a great racing game. It's only real issue is a lack of content due to the timeline they had to make it for the Xbox One. Forza 6 should correct that issue quite a bit.

Why so srs? Sure, it maybe my fault that I bought PS4, but it's not my fault that the console has the worst selection of racing games. That may change whenever Gran Turismo 7 decides to get released...if ever.

I wish forza 5 came out on the PC... specifically the build that they showed off @ E3... too bad they had to dumb the graphics down 10x for the XB1 🙁

Indeed, I'm quite pleased with how Forza 6 is lining up, particularly with the tracks. Hockenheimring's back, which I'm pleased with, just kind of sucks that the fake tracks I really liked (Maple Valley and Fujimi Kaido) aren't there.

The only gameplay issue I had with Forza 5 was with the Drivatars. I liked the added challenge of them, but I hated how hyper-aggressive they were. Really, A.I. in Forza as a whole has long annoyed me. The physics seem to break and bend to their will, and paired with how the game forces you to always start near the back of the field in a race, it can be frustrating to have the A.I. car slamming you without losing speed or traction much.

But Forza has never been on PC so how could it be dumb down? Forza is Xbox, Forza is not PC. Though Forza 4 should come to PC cause 360 is outdated now.

Well, given the history of racing games on the PS3 I would not have chosen the PS4 if I wanted that genre. We knew Forza was a launch title for Xbox One and Forza has consistently been the top tier racing title on consoles for years. Gran Turismo has stagnated into what I consider to be nothing worth mentioning and Sony has not even hinted at a new GT game for the PS4 and it's nearly 2 years into it's life.

I don't see why you blame Sony for your choice when the signs were clearly pointing at Xbox being the superior platform for those titles.

They demo'd it at GDC on the PC saying how easy it was to port from XB1 to PC via DX12. Somebody needs to leak that...

buy it (3)

it s the best game in the world, and u can take FMS5 + FH2 + the new FMS6.

do it! 🙂

PC had dreams about Pcars, Assetto Corsa ... but at the end they re not so good as forza. (i think they re trash, but it s my opinion)

The Xbox One will soon be backwards compatible with some 360 games which will be nice as the games are super cheap these days.

I'm new to Forza and the Xbox One. What is the deal with the throttle cutting out all the time? It's driving me crazy 🙁.

I like Forza because it has pick up trucks and SUV. What other racing game has those type of vehicles? Project Cars and Assetto Corsa does not, they all focus on only a few types of car.

Gran Turismo while is good mostly have Japanese car. Forza has the most variety of vehicle and I just love everything about Forza from it autovista to each car having unique interior is probably the only reason I even buy all of the DLC car pack for Forza 4.
