I think in most cases the gains are something in the range of 10% or less improvement.
 
Depends on the resolution you play at in general and detail levels. If its 1024x768 no frills, maybe 10-15%. If it's 1680x1280x4xaax8xaf, essentially 0% since something else would be the system bottleneck.
