should I buy a sniper/razor boomslang?

Hi, I play a lot of FPS games and I just saw an ad for a sniper/razor boomslang 2100. And it cost around $60. Now, has anyone ever tried a sniper boomslang before? Does it feel much more better than a regular optical mouse? BTW, the sniper boomslang is a ball-mouse. Is it worth the money? Thanks

SNIPER BOOMSLANG 2100

Hi

From that review you have a link to, the Sniper (formerly Razer) Boomslang seems like an impressive mouse. However, even if it may boast the best precision and accuracy around, it's still a ball mouse. My only memories of ball mice entailed having to clean them often... If you're looking at getting a Sniper product, rather go for the Viper. That at least is an optical mouse.

Although, it has to be said, I use an MX700 and I'm happy with it. If cordless isn't your thing, then have a look at the MX500/510. Also, both are impressive mice, with the 510 boasting increased accuracy and precision over the 500. Even the MX310 is a very decent mouse.

The BoomSlang is without a doubt the absolute most accurate mouse I have ever used (by far), but since it is a ball mouse and it is very acurate it does need frequent cleaning. The Boomslang is also a rather large mouse that can be a bit unwieldy for some. I have both, the BoomSlang and the new Viper, and I love the Viper. Logitech mice are good, but Razer mice are better.

i was about to tell you that to get a ball mouse would be retarded, and recommend an mx510.
then i read that review.
i say, go for it.

I am really not into cordless mouse because they tend to get heavy from the rechargeble batteries. Are the Vipers new? Because I thought that the sniper is the newest. I will probably try to get a viper if it is optical because I can't stand cleaning any mouse ball.

nitromullet, do you prefer the Sniper boomslang or the Viper?
