I can buy a toshiba 57 inch tv for $1356. Should I? Doing so would leave me with $800ish in the bank, and I just sold a car as well that helps make up the cost of the tv. I have a good job, will be replacing a 27 inch RCA. I already have a denon surround system so sound-side is good.

I have a 57" Toshiba widescreen. I just got an HD decoder for it. Holy crap. People who say RPTV's have bad pictures have never seen what I saw yesterday.

is your job permanent? I know when I graduated college, I was very thrifty for the first 6-7 months. Then Xmas time came and I got a little frivilous but I had a decent nest egg saved up. Now I just budget my money so I can save but also am fortunate to have some to buy toys.

I wanted to buy a big tv as well but 'settled' on a 36" one for now. Practicality took over as I'll probably be moving apartments from year to year.

I don't have a truck big enough to carry it. A good friend of mine (aunts boyfriend) owns a moving company. He's giving me a couch (awesome guy.. I've done some computer work and really late night moves for him) and loaning me a truck at the same time. In return I'm letting him 'use' my discount to buy a portable dvd player.

Hmm.. can you get me a discount from over there? :D

Too bad I don't have any friends that work retail.

I think I'm gonna try to get a 47" Panasonic RPTV -- not sure if I should buy next month and use a 10% coupon or if I should wait till after Xmas.

where do you live? price matching is your friend. Also, you can bargain with people (if your talking w/ the right associate. they know that the tv's have a HUGE markup)

$1400 is above what I wanted to spend. I absolutely cannot spend more than that.

Delivery would be $30. For any regular customer they will waive it if the customer asks or mentions another store.. but bbuy would still make $700ish some odd $$ on the tv. Since I'm getting it a little above cost theres not much I can complain about

I'm in Los Angeles. :(

I didn't know you can bargain with them. That's pretty cool. Got any idea what the markup is on the Panasonic 47WX53? :D

I have no idea. I had a list of prices of all the 51-57 inches yesterday. I work tommorow night, and don't mind checking for you if you are really serious. It will give you major bargaining room, as managers are willing to haggle down prices.

You would be my personal hero if you did that. :)

Thanks!
