Should I buy a nForce4 SLI board now or wait for SLi X16?

LAN features are not needed and I'm considering buying an EPoX EP-9NPA+ SLi . Since I'll be running an OEM version of XP Pro, I'll kinda' be married to this board for a while, so I want to make it count. Any feedback?

Are you really going to take advantage of SLI? If not then save your money and get a non-sli board since AMD DDR2 boards are on the horizon.

X-bit labs has new review up on the Asus x16 board and it is actually a little slower(fraction) than their(Asus) regular SLI deluxe board! So if it were me I would save the cash and choose a reg. SLI board that has been out awhile with several bios revisions under its belt and cheaper to boot! I think the Epox would be fine- 4 phase power instead of 3 and I haven't heard too many negative posts about it.

I'd also not go SLI unless you're running a huge display and insist on cranking the eye candy. Running a 1600x1200 monitor, I've been happy with a 6800GT and X800GTO2.

Good feedback guys!

True...I may or may not use the SLi x8 feature. But another reason I was considering the EPoX EP-9NPA+ SLi is because of what "the chase" mentioned, it's supposed to be a real solid board for O/C-ing. And in my case overclocking functions are paramount. I'll be mating this board with a 7800GT 256 and an A64 3000+ running hopefully at 2.4 or better. I'd love to be able to play COD2 and HL2 at 1600x1200 AAx4...we'll see.

How long before the AMD DDR2 boards are due out and how much over $200 will they be?
