Should I buy a new processor/mobo?

I'm running a s939 athlon x2 4400+ w/ 2 gigs of pc3200 ram.

I just bought an 8800GTX. I'll primarily be playing BF2142, and Counter-Strike Source. Do you think it would make sense to spend $600 or so to get the e6600/a mobo/some ram? Or would the "real" in game perforamnce difference not be worth it?

Any feedback is appreciated! :)

Not worth it at all. Overclock the X2 if you need some extra CPU power, but there's no reason to drop $600 for the amount of gain that you'd get.

If you're really itching to spend $600, you can buy me an 8800GTX though :p :D

You'd notice some performance increase, but probably not as much as you will with the addition of the 8800GTX.

Core 2 Duo prices are slowly dropping. Unless you really need the performance now, it will never hurt to wait and see what the future brings.

Great, thanks guys! :)

I think I'll stick with it for now--especially after how much I dropped on the 8800GTX.
