I don't know about you, but I want a GF3 really bad, but am gonna wait till they come down into the sub $250 range, which shouldn't be too long, a couple months maybe.
well id go nvidia over Radeon if you want performance. only thing the radeon has for it is the 2d and opengl games. otherwise the gf3 has awesome 2d and 3d. it may cost more but in the long run, downtime is where its at. and the gf3 is compatable in all areas unlike the radeon drivers
get the new radeon coming out in sept. its fully compliant with dx8.1 while the geforce3 is not. the g3 is 'compliant' but it does not support all the features of dx8.1 like atis new chip will.
if you want a g3 wait till the g3 ultra comes out it will most likely support dx8.1 but its stupid to buy one now when we know about this.
Dont get the Geforce 3 now. Even though the directX 8 features are cool, it will take several monthes for games to actually take advantage of those features. By then, there will be cards like the Radeon 2 or the Geforce 3 ultra. Instead just buy a Geforce 2 or Geforce 2 pro for now (assuming you have a lot of money) because the Geforce 2 chipset is still very powerful and will run future games without any problems in framerate.
I would wait at least 3 months for the price to drop as well. That is the very earliest time you'll see games that will have optimizations for dx8/gf3.
Go ahead and get one, you know you want it. Why wait and save a few bucks, buy it now. Who cares what other people say, do what's right, buy the geForce 3 now. Screw everyone else, they can keep talking while you're playing games with your brand spankin' new geForce 3.
Or you could keep your current card and send me some of that cash wad you've got.
i believe he tried to state his case through a sarcastic ad. IMHO it didn't seem to work. All the people who do own Geforce3 are ecstatic about it, which means if you get one, you won't be disappointed
