Should I buy a EVGA AGP 7600GS from my friend?

My friend purchased an EVGA AGP 7600GS card for his old P3 system. He had to RMA it and just received his new replacement in the mail. It's a brand new retail card. He's going to be buying a new Dell soon, so he wants to sell the new replacement card to me for $50 plus whatever shipping would cost.

The reservations that I have are that I'm currently using a 6600GT and 9800 Pro flashed to an XT and I don't know if it's much if any improvement over what I have already. I don't really need another card unless it's going to be a worthwhile improvement over what I have.

What do you guys think?

I'd say it would be an ok upgrade, especially at a $50 price tag.

From what I've seen, even though it has slower cc and mc speeds, it does perform better probably because it's newer and has more pipelines than the 6600GT.

Now.. Here's another question. I think that the 6600GT is faster than the ATI 9800 Pro, but never really investigated it. Another thing that I could do is sell off one of my 9800 Pro's and replace it with the 7600GS. What do you think?

yeah go for it, the 7600GS is faster than the 6600GT, IIRC a 7600GS is a wee bit faster than a 6800NU in most benchmarks and games....mostly.

A 6600GT is faster than a 9800Pro/XT.
