Should I buy a CUSL2?

I'm building a system for my son and I'm planning to upgrade my Motherboard and give him mine (BH6). After reading all the reviews I could find the CUSL2 sounded like the only board to get. BUT, after reading some of the threads here I'm having second thoughts. For a while (a few months) I will be running a Celeron 566 @ 850, I have 256Meg of PC133 and one ATA66 HD and one ATA33. Other components; SB-Live X-Gamer, Hauppage Win-TV PCI, VooDoo3 3000, Plextor 12x10x32, Afreey 50X and an ISA USR 56k modem (I know I have to give this up.)

Should I get the CUSL2?

(Yes, I also posted it in the Motherboard Forum but I'm very impatient after reading a couple hundred posts.)

I would highly recommend the CUSL2. I have had no problems with my machine thus far. It has been very very stable.

how long are you planning to wait ive heard ddr boards are coming out soon.might be something of interest.but if your of interest in a 815 board cusl2 too is probably the best there is i love mine best board i ever got from your setup there you should be set just aliltle bit of getting use to it thats all.yah i too had to give up my isa usr modems, and bought the usr 56k hardware pci modem which for me is alright but i still wish they would include an isa slot for my isa modem which was probably the best modem i ever bought.

CUCL2 isnt exactly the best. There is one board that ties CUCL2 in almost every aspect, the MSI 815E Pro. It's got everything that CUCL2 has, except it has one less CNR slot, but you get one more DIMM back.

I highly recommend the 815E Pro because I have heard a lot of minor issues with the CUSL2, such as compatibility, temperature monitoring, and the alarming going with false temperature reportings. I also like the 815E Pro because the board has a cleaner design than the CUSL2, the layout looks better, and you benefit more from having more space around the socket so you can put on a big ass heatsink. You will not be dissappointed by the quality of the MSI board.

I'm going to go read the reviews of the MSI again. I just scanned them earlier because I had CUSL2 on the brain. Most reviews said CUSL2 would be better for overclocking which is a hobby of mine but with people posting about problems with overclocking I'm a little concerned.

Tired of the Bull: I think many sites gave the edge to Asus because of the name. The reality is, MSI is every bit as good, if not better than the Asus. I dont see the Asus have an advantage in overclocking either because the MSI also possess voltage adjustments as well as 1MHz increment.

Use MicroStar as the keyword.

I got tens results using MicroStar MS-6337, and MicroStar 815E Pro.

Prices are as low as $125, very good.

No, this is actually like this:

MicroStar and MSI are the same thing, it's their brand name, MSI stands for MicroStar Inc.

MS-6337 is the model, MS has nothing to do with MSI, its just a part of their model name. And the motherboard's name is 815E Pro, model name MS-6337.

I would type in the keyword "MicroStar 815E Pro" or "MicroStar MS-6337" to get the most results.

No, I have never heard of Ajump.com.

But I bought my CPU from googlegear.com, they had great prices and it took shorter than expected to arrive. I would recommend buying from them, they have it for $133, not bad.

I have also purchased a couple CPUs from Googlegear but thier shipping is twice the shipping at Ajump (whoever they are). Still much of a real difference in price when I consider just how much I spend on computer stuff.

I have the CUSL2. Very nice. Pleased. Heard good things about the MSI board, but couldn't find anybody selling it.
