I'm interested in buying the Razor Boomslang 2000, and I would like to know your thoughts on why it is better than any other mouse for gaming.

For anyone that's used both the 1000 and 2000, is it really worth the extra cash for the 2000?

I've been using a Logitech Wingman 3-button mouse for over a year now, and I'm very comfortable with it. But it's getting old, and I can't find any sites that still sell it, so I think it's time to move on :(

I tried a boomslang once, and I hated it because I was so used to my Wingman. are they hard to get used to?

Did switching to a boomslang increase your frag count? Are they durable mice? I want to know before I drop $90 to $100 on a mouse!!!

I been using the BS2k with a ratpad for the past 9 months, and all i can say is i All Your Base Are Belong to Me! :) No really the 2k is really that good overall. It can utilize more than enough cpu cycles when using the ps2 port overclocked to 200khz(not that its problem unless you have a processor under 500mhz). But the mouse itself is alot more accurate than the 1k some ppl beg to differ but you have to actually use one to know for sure. The ball gets filthy really quick if you don't keep up with it(i mean every 3days it can get this way with consistant use). This mouse is durable as a keyboard would be, i dropped it numerous times from hights as high as 3 feet and it hasn't croaked yet. If you play Counter strike then you might as well forget the BS and go for something slower where this boomslang is just too twitchy for concentrated headshots in CS. I play mostly UT and q2 and Ssam. Another thing is this, Karna technologies died last month due to lack of funds and capital. So no new drivers will come out although the drivers are as stable as can be right now. Here is one place selling the BS check it

Unless your a Die hard FPS then the BS1k will do the trick but if you need to have the best then go BS2k. :) hope that helps...

Yup I agree wtih Remedy. I've got the BS2K on a RatPadz, and its much more precise than my Intellimouse Explorer (Optical). What program do you use to "overclock" your PS2 port? PS2Rate? I need one :)
