Should I be worried?

I overclocked my i5 3570K to 4.2Ghz on 1.12 vcore. It can do 20 passes in LinX with all memory selected with good temps. I can play all my games without any crashes or restarts. I decided to try an overnight Prime95 blend test, newest version with AVX, and it crashes after about 7 hours in. Tested the RAM few weeks ago and all the sticks checked out fine. Should I be worried? I have no problems with the computer otherwise. Not sure if I should consider my system "unstable" because of this, even though it handles everything that I throw at it game and program wise without any issues.

Depends on how stable you want it to be. Of course there are gold standards for stability but it isn't necessary. My machine folds without any issue with the overclocked settings for hours but I have yet to test stability for very long with stability programs, 1-2 hours max.

I don't like my PC turned on just so that I could waste electricity trying to prove that my rig is stable. My stability yardstick is the programs that I use and in this case, F@H. If you want 99.99% stability, stick with stock settings.

If it doesn't crash when you do what you do, then it's stable..

If you run Prime95 for a living, then you need it to be Prime95 stable..

prime failed on me after 11 hours on one core. I've left it for 5 years and never crashed in games or folding or anything I do.

Thanks for all the input everyone. I think I'm going to leave it alone for now. If I start crashing or getting errors while gaming or using other programs then something clearly isn't stable. For now, it's fine.
