I have discoved that the pipes of the 6800 are broken and can't be used(system hang), however the extra VS is fine, I have that unlocked and tried to play halflife with no visible difference. Does having this on improve performance that much or should I just try to turn it back off and save myself the Temp increase,(not much though), I tend to OC soon, although 3dmark03 seems to be encoutering an error everytime I try to run a test(before unlocking the VS) so I removed it, done this multiple times now. Kinda saddened my 6800 couldn't unlock fully :( oh well, you get what you pay for, atleast my temps on this cards drop to as low as 56C, although fan is not that loud but clearly audible :( Got any advice? this card is an eVGA 6800 I got from the micro center deal.

You could always try to have it RMA'd and see if that fixes the problem, if it's a local store you shouldn't have too much problems with it.

Hmm, I could send it back? I bought it in store, nothing is wrong with it, what should I say? I'm thinking of doing that, but what if they don't have an extra card lying around? Anyway, I'm thinking Its a nice card to have as is, although nothing wrong of getting a GT for the same price, It would be more future proofwise, but I'm not too hang up about it. Still I'm pondering this and the temptation to go return is great just to get another one that might unlock. ALthough it does say at the box that if I had trouble with it, I have to return it to the manufacturer and not the store.

Edit: no luck, they said that 15% restock fee will be applied if it isn't defective...:( oh well, guess I'm happy with the extra VS :D guess I'm on the downs in terms of luck... Damn, hoping the new year would be better than 2004.
