I took off the heatsink, lapped it and put arctic silver on it. It droped 12c, wow. That thermal pad that came with it must suck.

So Snidy, what are you idle and load temps now?
If 75C under load is normal according to Abit, then I should be ok. Right now, Im @ 3ghz and after running Prime95 for about 5 minutes, the CPU temp went up to 70C and my warning beeps kicked in. If 75C is within specs, should I adjust the warning up to 75C?
THanks Dead Parrot Sketch.

I always thought that the retail heatsinks didnt need lapping.
Dead Parrot Sketch,
So did you set it to exactly 75C or higher? At 2.7mhz and 1.575 Vcore, my temps went up by 10C in Prime95.
