Should I be worried about this?

Yesterday, I woke up after my mom had gotten home from church and she noted that it smelled funny in the house. It turned out that my dad was melting some lead over the kitchen stove to make fishing lures. (I was sleeping in the family room, which is connected to the kitchen) Should I be worried about lead inhalation?
When I found out what he did, I flipped the fuck out and almost beat the shit out of him. I didn't, however, because I probably would have hospitalized him in his current physical condition.

I spent six months in a country that still uses (very poorly refined) leaded gas, there is a large amount of lead present in the air and soil there. My blood test came back with a level so low that it was hardly worth the doc mentioning other than I had asked for him to test me for it.

You will live, just ask Dad to do it outside from now on.

It's bad for you, but in the same way as smoking. It's not going to kill you right away, but you might get cancer from it if you do it a lot... but you could also live to be 100 years old.

Did he at least have the fan on? Does not seem like a very smart thing to do lol. If anything he's the one who's exposed himself to it more than the rest of you.

Solder has lead in it, so if it was really that bad, they probably would not put it in there. It's also known to the state of California to cause cancer and birth defects.

Wait a minute, lead fishing lures? As in, something the fish is going to bite on, and then you eat the fish? Definitely not very bright LOL.

Yes, I would be very worried about how stupid your dad is.

Meh. As kids, we used to find old telephone cables, cut the outer layer of insulation and melt the lead core on a camp fire. The pour molten lead into beer caps, cool them and later use in games where you try to knock the opponents' caps out of a circle.

I came out all right. Or so I think.

If you feel this way about your father, you should get a job and move the hell out. Better yet maybe he should toss you out.

It amalgamates with the mercury so it's all good. Evil against evil.

If you knew what this man has done to my family, you'd understand why I can get so mad at him at times. He has been an on-again off-again cocaine addict and alcoholic for my entire life. For about a year now, he's been consistently plotting to get cocaine, and his mental state is deteriorating. I believe the reason I got mad is because there was one incident when he almost ran me over with his truck when I stood in his way when he was going to get coke. So, from now on, whenever I feel that he is endangering me or my family, I immediately start flipping out because I think of all the times he's shown me that he doesn't give a flying fuck about me or my family.
Furthermore, I am only 17, so I cannot move out of my house just yet.

It wouldn't surprise me if he was, but no, he didn't have access to any.

How much lead do you think has vaporized and how much do you think actually got into your lungs and how much of it was actually absorbed. Answer is, almost nothing on all three counts.

17 is old enough to live on your own pal. don't make excuses. I'm sure there are quite a few people on this forum that left home early.

It sounds like you need to be medicated as badly a your father. You should do heroin so you could just rub it in your dads face that your drug is more elicit than his. Maybe you could learn to love each other and do father son speedballs.

If he did that 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, it would start to get to him after a couple years. But, doing it once or twice a year? Virtually zero chance of harm.

On a side note: What kind of dip or salsa should one serve with lead chips?
