Should I be mad? Paid extra for 2 day air, but they shipped via ground.

I place an order with Newegg and paid extra for 2 day shipping instead of the free UPS ground. They shipped it via ground anyway, but the ETA is in 2 days. Should I be mad? Apparently I didn't need to pay extra.

Complain by either chatting, sending an email, or calling them. They will refund you and probably give you credit.

No, you should not be mad. You paid to get it within 2 shipping days, and you're getting what you paid for.

Also, I don't see any mention of 2 day air on Newegg right now.

I'd take it as a lesson learned. You paid for 2 day delivery and will get it in 2 days. If it doesn't show up within that timeframe then you have a case.

Probably no way to know ahead of time how close that package would ship from, but maybe next time you can just choose ground.

He paid for guaranteed 2nd day air. Ground is not guaranteed, regardless if he gets it in 2 days or not. Yes, he should get a refund on shipping. No need for Newegg to get paid 2 or 4 times in profit in shipping.

Paid for two day.. Receive in two days.. Nonissue imo. You shouldve signed up for free trial of shop runner. I think it was for six months

Again, he paid for guaranteed. Ground is not. Refund should be issued.

If your order says "air" and you were charged for "air" and the shipping track shows it went by "ground", then yes, in my view, you should complain. You paid for air service, not for the time it takes to get to you. You should get a reduction back to regular ground shipping costs.

You can't ordr two day air anymore on Newegg. It's listed as "Newegg 2-day". It says nothing about air, or the real method it ships by.

If that's the case, then it's a shitty way for Newegg to make extra money by making you think that you are getting guaranteed service when in fact, you may not get it when promised.

A lot of places do it this way. They have a map that gives estimated delivery time.

Lets say if company ships from NY and you get an order from NJ. UPS ground estimate is 1 day. If the person pays for overnight, it usually still ships ground.

FedEx ground is guaranteed for a specific day. (Not time of day though.)

Dunno what UPS does, but it's probably the same.

Slimy is charging the $3 fee without telling you...at least Newegg gives you the option to pay it or not...

hmmm, no bro. you are wrong.

He paid for 2 day delivery, unless the package doesn't arrive in 2 days he has no case. There is no specification on what method the package will ship. This is all in their terms and conditions.

A guarantee is a promise that it will be delivered as stated. If it's not, then the guarantee is violated and he would should be refunded. If the guarantee is upheld, then why should he receive a refund?

Mad? No.

But you certainly should ask for a refund, since they didn't ship as you paid for.

I have addressed above (i.e. shitty wording) on Newegg's part. If it says 2 day delivery (and not UPS 2nd day air), then yes, they could ship via ground and would be OK. If they listed it as UPS 2nd day air and shipped via ground, then yes. As it's worded now, I agree that you could not get a refund unless the delivery took longer than 2 days.

I stand corrected as the wording was not as I had assumed it to be (UPS 2nd day air or UPS 2nd day service).

I still think it is a crappy play on words to get more money.

Makes me happy that almost all warehouses for online shopping in Canada are in the smaller city next to mine. Free (2-5 day) shipping usually gets here by the second day.

For some stupid reason, Future Shop moved their warehouse from Ontario to British Columbia recently. Made me feel bad for ordering a $35 camera mount that was packed in a box 10 times it size (you could literally fit 10 in there) and shipped across the continent. I won't even mention that the east side of this country contains over 2/3 of its entire population.

I would, because you overpaid. Amazon auto-refunds if that happens.

Since when? It happens to me all the time with amazon. I have amazon prime, and occasionally if I need something the next day, I'll pay the extra $4.

And I'd say, about 50% of the time, the stuff that I order next day will come from the warehouse that's ~100 miles away, so they ship it ground anyway. Never once has amazon auto refunded me.

On the flipside, amazon has had a habit lately of taking what should've been a 2 day delivery and shipping it via smartpost. Those shipments routinely take 3-4 business days instead.

If you specifically paid extra for a certain type of service that you didnt get, then you should be refunded.

If you paid for a generic shipping time option, then only should be compensated if that is not met.

Im not clear what the situation is.

If you live close enough to the distribution center so that there's no airport-to-airport transfer that will shorten the shipping time then ground is going to be how it is shipped.

So if it arrived a day early via ground he should still get a refund for not having it ship air?

When you pay shipping you're paying for a delivery date, not a delivery method.
