Should I be concerned about my shipment?

I placed an order from a website paying by PayPal (so basically, cash up front).

Several days after my order, I received shipping notification with a tracking number (USPS), tracking it on their website it says:

The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper or shipping partner on August 07, 2002 at 10:36 pm to expect your package for mailing. Status is updated every evening. Please check again later.

I still haven't received my package. Today is the 21st.. should I be concerned? It's a rather expensive order ($300), but at the same time I'm guessing the cheapest method of shipping was used. (It's electronics). So I doubt they used Media Mail, but even then.. isn't this an awfully long time for the package to arrive?

Should I start trying to contact someone or something? I've tried contacting the store I ordered from, but they are useless...

Umm assuming that he used Priority mail (with the confirm thing on their website) you should recieve it no later than 3 days....
So yea I would be worried.

I believe you can get free delivery confirmation online with Priority Mail. Once you print a label, the tracking # goes into the system. For all you know, they could have just printed the label to make you think the package was shipped, but never used it. I'd look into it.

USPS is not guaranteed you know. Even though priority mail is advertised as 2-3 days, it can take longer.

I'm beginning to think they did just that, gave me the ticket # and didn't ship it. They gave me the # after I called them and was like "It's been almost 2 weeks, have you shipped it yet?"

Great.. now I get to try and fight this with PayPal and my CC. I guess I'll give it another day, but it's not looking good...

I have had trouble with USPS delivery conformation when I send the packages out through places other than official USPS buildings. It seems that the packages are never initally scanned into the system and never show up as being sent. So they are never tracked properly. Only upon delivery does anything show up on the USPS web site tracking. In the end all I would get is conformation that the package arrived and not that it was sent.

Not sure if this applies to your situation, but just because it was sent doesn't mean that it will show up on the system.

Even so it should not take 2 weeks to deliver a package. I've never had problems with USPS and shipments always arrived in 2-3 days.

I have ahd a few things take up to a month. Kinda sucks. But 90% are usually in 2-3 days.

USPS had a lot of problems post 9/11 through x-mas with 1 month for a priority mail package to arrive was considered normal; although USPS still kept their "2-3 days!" banner everywhere, lying to the public. 2 Weeks is definitely long right now, but certainly not unheard of, especially if the package was misrouted. Another thing I would do is check your local post office to see if they have it there on hold; sometimes the carrier doesn't bother to leave a notice if you aren't home to receive it.
