Its going to be a long drive so i want to know if its going to be winning or loosing battle.

Short version:
I was looking for BFG 6800 GT
No one have
A store had Asus 6800 gamer edition
Manager said its same as 6800GT
Manager said its also 16 piplines (after looking at the box, a bit missleading)
I researched and its not
20% restocking fee
I want full refund.
Im tripping?

LONG version:
I was about to buy a BFG 6800GT but no one was carrying them(computer fair), i asked the manager of the shop but he only had the eVGA like everyone else. He said he had the ULTRA or a ASUS 6800 gamer edition (v9999). I told him the Ultra was too much so he said to get the ASUS b/c it was a GT since its a special edition. I though maybe its just a 6800 OCed so i asked if it actually has 16 pipelines. He looked all over the box and saw 6800 geforce(didnt specify NU, GT, or ULTRA) 16 pipelines. So i took his word and bought it knowing i can just do a lil research B4 i opened the box. Now i found out its similar to a GT but not a GT since it doesnt perform just as fast like he said. Im looking over the sticker he placed on the reciept and it says 20% RESTOCKING FEE WITHIN 7 DAYS FOR REFUND. Although i did buy it and am returning it, i should be entitled to a full refund right? or am i tripping? $400 BTW

I shouldnt have taken his word... after he told me not to use artic silver(or any other compound im guessing)... Since its messy and hard to get off...

Which store?

Did you read their return/restocking policy BEFORE purchasing it?

Some stores have crap on the receipt that says something like in buying the item, you automatically agree to a restocking fee. :(

No i did not read the policy since its actually a sticker on a basic reciept that u hand write the info, price, etc on. The sticker was all in CAPS and started with store name addy etc so i thought nothing of it. The fair was also closing in a few minutes so i was also in a rush.

EDIT: He also has my CPU (hes sending it through mail since he ran out). I think i should ask for the CPU first =X

The card has 12 pipelines and needs to be OCed to be similar to a GT. Why spend $400 on a 6800NU when a GT is about the same?

store name,#, addy. 20% RESTOCKING F
EE WITHIN 7 DAYS FOR REFUND. AFTER 7 DAY
S MANUFACTURE WARRANTY ONLY. NO RET
URNS OR EXCHANGE ON RETAIL BOXED PROD

have you called the manager yet?

I bet you could first call him up and talk to him letting him know the problem and most likely he'll waive the restocking fee.

Ive tried calling their business # but i guess they are closed since they are attending the computer fair tomorrow as well.

Edit: Wow i just noticed the price on my motherboard and CPU was 320. They advertised it as 285.02(+tax) on the board with the A64 3200+. I guess he sneaked in $11.46 for shipping the cpu and didnt bother telling me. California tax is still 8.25% correct?

false advertising and/or manager is a dumbass or wanted to make a sell or both
I think all 3.

newegg?

They insist on raping overseas military on shipping charges. I just contemplated ordering the Soyo motherboard that's free with rebate from Newegg, but they want $18 to ship it via USPS Priority Mail, when the actual shipping cost is probably about $8. Bandits -- as if it costs them $10 to have some drone fill out a Customs form.

I just returned the video card and it almost went smooth. Although they didnt have my processor i did get my $ back with a little trouble. He was going to charge me $10 and only return $390 but after i explained a 2nd time he just handed over $400.

How should a CPU be shipped fedex? So i know when it comes to my door, if i should accept it or not. Im guessing in a cardboard box thats slightly bigger then the normal package and DOES NOT make noise when being shook. correct? I really dont like his service and during my purchases and return he acted as if hes doing me a favor by selling it to me.

Fortunately, you can make the choice to never use them again. Find another vendor.
