was wondering if i should add 4 more gigs of ddr2 ram? was wondering if i should because black friday is coming up

it doesnt look like i will be upgrading in 1-2 years

when i was looking at prices on newegg the prices for 4 gigs was bout 50 bucks.

Correct me if I'm wrong.. but for people like me, where gaming is the most intensive activity.. we aren't even utilizing a full 4gb yet.

In fact, even my modded out GTA4 takes up between 2.0 and 2.8 GB of ram at all times, the highest I've ever seen a game utilize.. and many other games, even brand new ones like Skyrim, somehow take up like a gig and a half of ram! 😵

People who benefit from outrageous amounts of RAM are those who are dealing with editing many very high resolution photos and such.

I was using 80% of 4GB of DDR3 the other day, in Win 7 64 bit , by having a lot of browser windows open, some mail,

That does not sound right..

A bunch of browser windows opened using almost 4 GB of RAM?

Here's my setup.. 6 separate browsers opened, one with a dozen tabs opened onto it.. less than 1 gb of ram being used:

It was probably 60 windows open with IE9. I may have media center running too. I don't like IE9 and firefox has crashed a couple of times on me. Time to try another browser. I have wondered about memory leakage in IE9

May I ask.. why? :sneaky:

So i got my ram today, and i was wondering if i just stick them into the empty slots or do i put them right next to each other instead? or does it really matter?

Your MB manual will tell you exactly how to populate your DIMM slots.
