Should generic PC133 RAM work fine in KT133A motherboards?

I think I remember when the first KX133, KT133, etc. mobos came out that people were having problems getting generic RAM to work.

I'm considering buying an EPoX 8KTA3, and I was just going to use my old P100 RAM and run the board at 100 MHz. But now I can get 128 MB of generic PC133 for $50. Should this RAM work fine in a KT133A motherboard, or do I need to get name brand stuff?

Whatever you do, please run a thorough memory test (like MEMTEST86) to see whether your RAM is OK.

Bad DIMMs with sneaky errors or sticky bits do exist - right off the shelf as well as in your trusted old box. (I recently tested a newly-bought DIMM in my machine for a friend, only to find that it's OK but my own DIMM had a sticky bit. Argh. Luckily, it was still within warranty.)

Thanks. With news of these KT133/KT133A bugs floating around, I'm not sure if I'm going to buy the 8KTA3. But if I do get a new mobo, I'll be sure to run some memory tests first. :)
