Should employers recognize Brainbench certs? (With poll!)

After doing contract work for most of my working life I have seen employers who run the gamut of certification requirements, from no certs needed to 'You must be J#KDK(SDLK#$KXD+ Certified for this position.'

With the emphasis being placed on certification these days, and with the costs of most professional certifications such as those from Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, Redhat, etc. should employers recognize certifications from companies like Brainbench?

Please post your comments or any stories you may have of certification bliss/hell.

Very nice Nazi-Child, but you forgot to make yours a link as well... unless you, much like myself, don't feel the need to do menial tasks to benefit a lazy population...

Just in case that isn't your point here, I'll make this easy for you...

^Heh, nice comeback-

I took a few brainbench tests and passed them with ease back when they were still beta testing most of them and they were free.

What most people don't know is that Brainbench was started by a recruiting firm who were trying to track down skilled people for solicitation. Then someone in that firm decided to branch off brainbench into a legitimate certification practice by charging for the tests.

Actually, all of their tests are free during some kinda promotion right now. Runs until the 14th i think. I've been testing like a madman for the last few hours myself.

Although, I too miss the old days when it was always free. I still have a stack of paper certs from them since back then they actually sent them to you as well.

Hehehe... I love it! While browsing their list of certifications and tests I noticed this:

ActiveX FREE
.NET Framework FREE
ASP.NET FREE
Cisco Network Design FREE
Dreamweaver MX FREE
English Writing Exercise $49.95 <---
