Not at all. A profound statement. Very quotable indeed.

Yes, it should be illegal, so we can join the ranks of other countries that ban the burning of their national flag, like China, North Korea, Cuba, Iran and Iraq.
Well said.

As much as I find flag burning distasteful, it needs to be allowed.

yea, thats perfectly understandable (as in, thats easy to read)... but I still view that as disgusting. and disenheartening.

So you must have a different idea of where the symbolism of the Flag directs. To you it directs to ideals and dreams of a free nation (selective freedom in your case). To me it directs to the country itself.

I love the United States, but not more than the freedoms it was founded on. If our government were to perverse the constitution and limit our freedoms through a bunch of amendments, then you're damn right I would take a flag and burn it...and then take up arms in revolution. Because this country would no longer stand for freedom. The symbol of this country would be perverted and disgusting to me.

weird.. I thought I already posted a response in this thread.

Anyway,
A) Burning the flag should remain legal.
B) Veterans who fought in wars to protect the freedoms the flag represents should legally be allowed to put a bullet between the eyes of the people desecrating the flag.

That way, everyone's happy. :)

no - it's still free speech. however, if you damage someone else's property, then you have every reason to be arrested
