Should AVI be deinterlaced? Captured from cable w/VirtualDub

Maetryx here, 😎

I've captured 2.5 hours of television with my ATI Radeon AIW cable input. Should I use VirtualDub filters, such as deinterlace, on this AVI, or just use TMPEGnc to convert it to SVCD?

You should de-interlace depending on the target platform of the final video.
If you plan to use it in a DVD/SVCD player, then do not de-interlace.
If you only ever plan to watch it on your PC, then de-interlacing is preferred as it reduces the bit-rate needed a small amount and stops artifacts appearing while watching the video on a PC.
