Edit: Some people don't see the sarcasm in this thread. They need to lighten up a little.

Hi. I am new to Comcast (just switched from AOL DSL) and I was thinking that Comcast would be much better. The connection is not much faster, although for video it is totally better. I don't like the difference in email...there is no time stamp on new mail, and I really don't like that I don't get a "signal" when I have "new" mail. With AOL, you don't get "you've got mail" unless your mailbox is empty, but you do get a clicking sound when a new mail is put in your inbox. If AOL can do it, why can't COMCAST??? Hello Comcast, I'm here, now give me some of the bells and whistles that AOL has and I'll stay. Otherwise, bye bye!!

All AOL'ers under say...40
Some adults/grandparents use it because they don't have any other choice. But you typically don't encounter them online so thats fine.
AOL'ers in online games suck

Should AOL'ers be banned from the Internet ?

The question doesn't even make sense....you can't be an AOL'er without being on the internet...if you disallowed all AOL'ers then there would be no AOL....wait a sec, great idea!! :p

but seriously though, like someone else said....lots of people need the hand holding AOL provides....not everybody is an internet geek :)

I hope that guy got flamed to a crisp for that. :|:|

AOL isn't just training wheels for the internet, it's training wheels for dimwits on the internet. I think we'd all be happier if the backbone providers perma-blocked all AOL ips, or simply re-routed all their traffic to Nigeria.

AOLers have been a bane to the computing world from the get-go.

I remember during the Windows 95 Preview Program when all the AOLers would get on MSN (before MSN publicly launched) and they had the most inane comments and questions. Brain-dead morons.

I had a roommate who connected to AOL from the dorm T1...he thought the you've got mail sound was the best thing ever. I wanted to punch him in the back of the skull every time he signed on AOL. :|
