should AGP fast write be enabled in Bios?

I have a Hercules 3d prophet Ultra AGP card, I'm not sure about this setting in the Bios, anyone know?
 
You can enable it; it is supposed to bring better performance, but in a real world situation only seems to bring a 1FPS improvement.
 
Anytime I have it enabled, on any motherboard I've ever used, it always causes lockups. It did this on Soltek, Epox, and Abit boards, using either GF2 or Radeon cards.
