Should a post a website?

I own a part-time A/C repair business for cars, light & heavy-duty trucks. I have always relied on mailing flyers once or twice a season, spring & summer, to create new business.

I was wondering if posting a small website for my business would be a worthwhile investment of my time & money?

It's so cheap, I don't know why anyone wouldn't. These days, I google search before I open the phone book.

Just make sure it looks nice. If the website looks unprofessional, one may assume the company as a whole is, too.

Yes I would DEFINITELY go for it.

Web sites are the new "virtual real estate" and I would stake your claim NOW. It's not as expensive as you would think, although it will take a lot of "time" (which is worth $$$).

I offer web hosting to local small business with packages starting at $19.95/mo, the key benefits I tout to my prospective clients are:
  • Online presence and visibility
  • The ability to describe your services, about your company and your mission statement.
  • Offer online only specials and coupons
  • E-mail newsletter with info on how to repair, new products, other interesting tidbits. People read this and usually respond.
  • List your business address, hours of operation, driving directions (even link to Mapquest to provide driving directions)
  • Post pictures of yourself and your business.
  • Customer testimonials from happy clients, references
  • If you are a member of certain associations including the BBB list their logo's
  • Being able to post your domain on business cards, flyers, your voicemail, etc.

Again the cost for domain and web hosting is cheap, but it will take time to develop the web site, etc.
