Um, not exactly... it's like strapping two modems together back to back. You'll need two phone lines and an isp that accepts shotgun modems (they'll need two dialups). As you can see, it's not worth it. For the cost of two phone lines you could get DSL or cable.

Moralpanic pretty much sums it up. The ISP I work for only offers it on certain phone numbers though because of the modem pools you need to dial into. It's pretty simple to set up, it's just an option in dial up networking.

well stated supergax. the other thing you might want to look into is isdn or IDSL



BTW supergax, i noticed you live in NY, is the isp you work for ebiznet by any chance?
