gotta love public service. nothing like being shot in the a$$ with a TASER. hurts like hell. even worse after you spent the morning getting sprayed with oc. god i love this job!!!!
 
Did they actually barb you with the taser?

Getting tased doesn't hurt terribly unless they stick the barbs in you. It doesn't feel good, but it's not THAT bad. You would go down obviously, though.

yes, was shot with the taser. all part of training to be able to carry it at work.

Really? The cops here just got the zap and not the barbs. I guess we know where the real men work and I can tell you that it's not here 😛

I never understood why they do that. They don't make you get shot to carry your gun or get beaten with a night stick to carry that. 🙂

because it's lethal to shoot yourself (even in a controlled environment) and you probably know what it feels like to get whacked over the head with a thick piece of anything... Now, being tasered is not so common.

ide think it would help them determine how much force to use...without knowing how it feels they might have a hard time gauging

3 words: testifying in court.

Say you're an officer who shot & killed a suspect after they took your OC or Taser from you. The defense asks you why you'd shoot them. You answer that you have firsthand experience with the effects and knew that you're life would be in imminent danger had you not used deadly force.
