Shot in the head? You mean a flesh wound?

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -
An early morning dispute landed one man behind bars and another fighting for his life.

Markeith Taylor, 28, is accused of shooting another man twice, after police say they got into an argument.

The shooting happened at Pine Tree Mobile Park on Farr Road around 2 a.m. on Wednesday. The victim, a 34 year-old man, was shot once in the head and once in the left hip.

Columbus police report the man drove himself to the Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition. As of Thursday morning, his status has been upgraded to unsatisfactory.

Neighbors at the mobile home park declined to speak about the incident.

Taylor is being charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He scheduled for a preliminary hearing Friday morning.

The head is a big place with lots of non-lethal areas. Hit in the cheek with a .22LR is a whole lot different than hit in the brainstem with a .308.

Sounds like this guy was extremely lucky.

I wouldn't want to be shot in the head (or anywhere for that matter) with any caliber.

Supposedly Chechen rebels used .22 rifles against the Russians with lethal results which included shots to the face.

5.56 NATO is roughly .22 in caliber but has a lot more energy behind it than a .22 LR. (1,797 J vs. ~200 J, depending exactly which .22LR variant)

Heh, remember the bugler that got shot 5 times in the head/neck with a .38?

The head...it's hard.

.22 as in .22LR is what the Chechens used for sniping attacks against the Russians as I understand it.

I think that was "shot in the heart" though i don't believe that was the name of the song.
